About the role
The Real Estate and Store Development Technology team sits within the Global Real Estate / Project Management Office. We enable and support the entire organization, delivering strategic innovation while also keeping the lights on in the current technology portfolio. We collaborate with execution teams in Real Estate, Store Development, and Maintenance, understanding their processes and needs so we can deliver technology that enables their business and takes them to the next level.
As everything right now is about data, we are looking for a GIS (Geographic Information System) Analyst to build and support the GIS infrastructure which is built on a public cloud. This person will develop, roll-out, support and maintain internal tools that enable Global Real Estate and Store Development Teams to achieve their goals and objectives. This position provides strong subject matter expertise and exemplifies a highly collaborative team spirit with multiple business partners. The GIS Analyst will work with various business partners and executives to explain geographic trends and findings from their analyses.
What you'll do
Support the existing ArcGIS infrastructure and provide insights to business partners
Analyze spatial data through the use of ESRI’s mapping software.
Troubleshooting: Solve technical problems and use statistical knowledge to spot trends and find errors
Mathematics – Analyze data, statistics, and patterns in numerical information.
Analytical thinking – Analyze data based on certain criteria and use that knowledge to generate reports for use in other projects
Programming – Use SQL, Python and computer programs on a regular basis
Planning: partner with project management in providing time estimates and status reports for all work streams
Understand existing application infrastructure built on AWS and determine strategy to migrate it to Microsoft Azure.
As part of ongoing work and interaction with the broader team, identify new opportunities to use modeling and advanced analytics to drive business value and educate Global Real Estate about analytical concepts and thought processes.
Support the definition of new data elements that will drive additional holistic, profit maximizing approaches to analyzing the business.
Who you are
3-5 years of experience with analytical techniques including spatial modeling, predictive modeling, optimization techniques, classification algorithms, ensemble methods, cluster analysis, data mining.
Experience in analytics processes using Python, R, ArcGIS, SQL, and big data platforms.
BS or MS in Geography, GIS, MIS or related discipline including advanced studies in data analytics and data science.
Knowledge of retail real estate data modeling, analytical and reporting systems a plus.
Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills; ability to work with considerable ambiguity; ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly.
Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with broad cross section of business partners.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to represent departmental point of view in meetings with the ability to negotiate with and influence key decision makers.
Demonstrated ability to recommend, develop, manage and drive projects to successful completion.
Accomplished team player who can have fun and work hard with a history of exceeding customer expectations.
