What you'll do

The Inventory Strategy (MPA) Senior Planner leads pre-seasonproduct analytics, a critical step in accurate, efficient financial planningand inventory purchasing.

  • Conducts analysis and creates plans that support the development of pre-season assortment strategies, financial plans, and style level investments.

  • Owns the implementation of analytical inputs into Buy Planning and Allocation tools, including partnership with inventory management and technical teams.

  • Connects inventory management and assortment strategies to systematic “smart starts”

  • Manage calendar tocomplete seasonal work on time for system readiness

  • Maintain andimprove internal tools in support of pre-season planning configurations.

  • Lead continuousimprovement in process accuracy, efficiency, and sustainability.

  • Manage semi-annualclustering process for sizing.

  • Partner with Gap Inc functions to represent Brand approach to analytics.

  • As needed, help with Ad Hoc analysis or projects

  • Part of the inventory management divisional team and supports Director of IM and GM in both current business activities as well as strategic initiatives

  • Support career development and skill development of direct report to ensure job satisfaction, retention and future talent development.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in inventory management (or equivalent)

  • 2 years of supervisory experience, preferred

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to formulate data based strategies

  • Ability to gather, manipulate and interpret large amounts of data

  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, effective time management

  • Ability to present and communicate with peers and leadership.

  • Build constructive, effective relationships with a broad group of business partners

  • Knowledge of inventory optimization concepts and principles

  • Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude with experience in a non-academic environment.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment.

  • Ability to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.

  • Strong excel skills and the ability to learn other tools/software as needed (Access, Essbase, Microstrategy, etc)
