About the role

Organizational Leadership
This is a cross-functional role that will work with the core Capital Accounting team as well as other departments in the organization (i.e. Store Development, Real Estate Finance, Gap Tech, Lease Accounting and Accounts Payable)
This role is responsible for the monthly operational processes related to projects and fixed assets
This role supports the other Staff Analyst on the team for operational and accounting functions as needed
This role requires the ability to deliver results in a timely manner in order to meet monthly deadlines
Key Responsibilities
Monthly review of project reporting to identify completed projects for domestic and international store locations
Prepare and post labor and freight costs, accruals, allocations, and other close related activities as needed
Generate assets to clear the Construction in Progress (CIP 1502) and Asset Clearing (1559) accounts and ensure all capital costs are accounted for timely
Process asset retirements, accelerations and transfers based on information received from business partners
Prepare monthly reporting which includes, but not limited to, projects aged greater than 6 months
Prepare timely and accurate reconciliations between the subledger and general ledger including the resolution of variances
Assist with SOX compliance such as maintaining proper documentation to support audit activities, test support and remediation of control deficiencies
Prepare quarterly PBC schedules as assigned and provide audit support when requested
Responsible for actively communicating to team and management when issues arise to ensure issues are resolved timely
Special projects and assignments as needed

Who you are

Key Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
2-3 years Finance or Accounting Experience required
Fundamental understanding of accounting concepts
Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word skills
Basic MS Access skills
Project Accounting Experience a plus
Fixed Assets Accounting Experience a plus
Knowledge of Oracle Financial Systems a plus
Experience preparing reconciliations required
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships through all levels of the organization
