About the role

The Inventory Strategy group designs, creates,and implements inventory optimization capabilities that enable Gap Brand tomanage business in a localized manner throughout the product lifecycle.Projects are designed to create sustainable competitive advantages thatgenerate significant financial return and enhance the consumer experience. TheAnalyst is primarily responsible for providing research, analysis, and supportfor identifying, evaluating, and capturing strategic opportunities. He or she will own and manage small projectsor parts of larger initiatives, including identification of key issues, workplanning, analysis, development of conclusions, and presentation of findings.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management / supply chain initiatives that support overall company and brand goals

  • Support inventory management planners by managing key system inputs, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating on adjustments to support business strategies

  • Provide research, analysis and support for identifying, evaluating and resolving strategic opportunities

  • Proactively surface and communicate business issues to develop best practices and requirements for inventory management processes

  • Prepare presentation materials and assist in presenting findings to all levels of management

Who you are

  • Deep Analytical Ability - Demonstrated hypotheses-driven, problem-solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured analyses from disparate sources of information. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & the ability to manage large data sets is critical to this role
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills– Ability to work collaboratively across levels and functions to build trust and respect. Strong professional/executive presence.

  • Powerful Communication– Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both written and verbally. Mastery of Microsoft PowerPoint is critical to this role.

  • Creative Thinking– A combination of out of the box thinking and the ability to question status quo and generally accepted beliefs. Able to generate innovative insights from analysis to drive actionable results. Continuous curiosity and interest in product.

  • Exceptional Organization- Highly organized, and strong planning and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to drive results across simultaneous projects under tight time pressure

  • Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably in retail industry, consulting or investment banking preferred.

  • BA/BS with emphasis on quantitative skills in engineering, economics, business, mathematics or related field preferred
