About the role

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to accelerate Hill City’s growth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing & executing marketing content plans across multiple programs and platforms, quickly testing and measuring the effectiveness of each, and overseeing successful project delivery.

This role is in San Francisco and reports to the Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations and works collaboratively with all team functions, including Creative, Product, Ecommerce, Operations and partners within Gap Inc.


Brand Marketing – 50%

Accountable for executing omni channel brand marketing, in partnership with creative & event planning teams

Carry out the brand vision to develop compelling storytelling and digital experiences that drive awareness, traffic, sales and profitability

Play a contributing role in creative brief development to inform & inspire creative teams

Help frame up the hypotheses to go out and test performance optimization, to validate against problems/solutions & then drive test execution

Be a strong brand steward internally & externally, with ability to communicate directly with customers

Apply key learnings to inform decision making through research & analysis, financial analysis & testing

Performance Measurement – 25%

Own all aspects of performance marketing, managing internal & external relationships to deliver and exceed customer acquisition and growth targets

Identify, test and implement new performance-marketing opportunities that deliver against our investments

Co-manage performance marketing budget and distribution and refinement of the budget

Manage day-to-day reporting of marketing analytics associated with performance marketing

Own weekly sharing of performance marketing analytics and assessment

Project Management – 25%

Lead with a guest-led mentality & create unified experiences that seamlessly integrate digital touchpoints

Understand constraints & challenges; but be creative solution oriented to find ways in, break down barriers & illuminate opportunities

Strong organization & communication skills, to create clear timelines, milestones & set expectations on deliverables

Bring an agile and adaptable style, to effectively lead multiple projects at the same time

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

5-7 years of experience across a broad range of work, including: brand marketing, creative development, performance marketing, project management

3+ years retail experience; preferred experience experience with a men’s retailer

Omni-channel brand marketing experience with a strong understanding of retail, catalog, and digital marketing

Experience with creative development and effectively briefing and working with creative teams

Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, while motivate & influence teams

Strong project management skills, including demonstrated track record in managing complex projects

Strong “driver” reputation, known for getting things done with velocity & speed

Strong analytical skills and can easily translate data into actionable next steps

Strong organization, communication and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, while motivate & influence teams

High level of accountability and proven ability to deliver execution & results

Marketing agency experience preferred
