What You’ll Do
• Responsible for all fabric development from end to end.
• Drive product innovation by staying connected on industry trends and technological developments as they relate to the brand and customer. Also having a clear knowledge of market direction and competitor direction.
• Support key product initiatives through material research and development with strategic supplier partners.
• Present seasonal ideas and concepts based upon research and innovation anyalsis.
• Collaborate with Design to source seasonal material requests within specific timelines.
• Translate Brand aesthetic and intent into clear, executable direction for supplier/GIS partners.
• Regularly reviews incoming developments and updates with Design and cross-functional teams and provides expertise and recommendations on developments.
• Analyzes material options and communicates feedback on fabrics to reach desired aesthetic and performance goals with capability to give technical guidance.
• Monitor and comprehend quality test reports and their impact on quality, performance, and price. Identify and substantiate performance technology marketing claims by managing the related testing.
• Proactively works with GIS and suppliers to re-engineer around fabric limitations/issues.
• Ability to identify and proactively engage business partners when issues arise with recommendations for viable options or solutions.
• Help build and manage the development and sourcing process for the R&D department.
• Manages the fabric library, including PLM fabric/trim data system.
• Strong understanding of Sustainable practices and opportunities in trims
• Utilizing advanced analysis techniques and developing new testing protocols to understand human performance, technology or materials
• Evaluate, test, analyze, and resolve raw material issues in customer returns in partnership with sourcing, production and R&D teams for future solutions.
• Validate marketing claims, utilizing testing methods and outside lab methods if necessary in partnership with Marketing and Legal.
• Work with Wear Test team to provide fabric technology and any other relevant information.

• 7+ years of experience in a related role within the apparel industry, and 3+ years within performance apparel.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Incredibly passionate about sustainability and innovation.
• Has established relationships with industry leading vendors across the globe.
• Experienced presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Skilled at developing cross-functional relationships with design, marketing, inventory management, and other functions within a global brand.
