About the role

The Director - Tax Compliance will lead activities related to federal and state income tax compliance activities and support tax accounting and forecasting activities. The Director - Tax Compliance will be primarily responsible for managing the preparation and review of all domestic income tax compliance calculations and forms.

What you'll do

  • Lead team in preparation and review of the Federal and state tax return calculations and forms, including estimates and extensions
  • Ensure Company complies with state and local income tax laws regarding income tax filing requirements, tax adjustments, electronic filing requirements and state apportionment
  • Perform technical analysis, calculations and documentation related to federal and state tax return filing positions
  • Proactively analyze and communicate the cash tax impacts of business transactions, changes in business results, tax projects and legislative changes
  • Identify and implement process improvements for tax compliance
  • Analyze information and prepare scenario-based modeling for forecasting of cash income taxes
  • Assist with the analysis, documentation and implementation of tax projects
  • Partner with Tax Accounting team to deliver tax calculations supporting the federal and state income tax provision and return-to-provision analyses
  • Partner with various teams within the organization to meet needs of the business including FP&A, Corporate Controller’s Group, and Treasury

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with CPA and Master’s degree preferred
  • 12 plus years of tax experience in public accounting and/or a multinational corporate tax department
  • Extensive tax compliance experience, including maintenance of income tax filing calendars, analysis of legislative changes and determination of proper reporting and disclosure
  • Advanced state tax technical expertise on issues affecting retail taxpayers, with ability to research, analyze and document tax positions
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to synthesize and analyze data to identify and escalate issues and trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to message effectively to senior management and non-tax professionals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate, develop relationships and partner effectively across the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and high level of attention to detail
  • Superior skill level with Microsoft Excel and tax provision and compliance software
