About the role
The Merchandising Strategy & Operations Senior Manager will be leading the development of process and tools to drive operational efficiency for the Global Merchandising team and role clarity for the Global/Omni merchandising organization. This person will develop work plans to optimize effectiveness of product milestone meetings and solicit/analyze ongoing feedback to improve process and meeting effectiveness. This role will be critical to anticipate obstacles in the product to market cadence and recommend solutions to ensure teams are working effectively against clearly identified objectives.
What you'll do
Define and evolve current state operating model to support the global merchandising organization with rollout of PETE
Create and publish training materials, FAQ sheets and other documentation as needed to ensure clarity in process, tools and deliverables for pre-season and in-season work
Oversee logistics for key milestone meetings across all divisions and communicate clear guidelines that meet deliverables of both the pipeline and leadership.
Actively listen to all members of the Global Merchandising and Leveraged Market teams to ensure that innovative ideas are surfaced and acted upon, and that the team feels ownership in the business.
Share information cross-brand and cross-channel where appropriate.
Manage projects or initiatives as requested by the Director of Merch Strategy & Ops
Create and maintain autonomous and close working relationships with Merchandising, Design, Product Development, IM, and the Functional Operations Leads to drive continuous improvement with merch owned activities and processes.
Who you are
Analytical/Problem Solving Skills
3-5 years of experience demonstrating analytical and problem solving skills
Detail-oriented; able to execute with efficiency, accuracy and autonomy
Ability to analyze competing interests across multiple sources and recommend an informed and balanced resolution
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner taking into account varied and competing points of view
Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence: ability to influence others
Ability to work independently, anticipate obstacles and garner leadership support as needed.
Comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
Demonstrated success in developing and leading a project from inception to completion
Demonstrate the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to flex across a range of diverse projects
Strong attention to detail
Proficient with using Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
BA/BS degree required
5-7 years of work experience, preferably within retail industry (big picture retail understanding)
Interest/knowledge of retail industry
