About the role

The Field Visual Director (FVD) inspires and influences merchandise presentation creativity in balance with meeting the brand financial metrics and customer profile. The FVD role leads a team of Field Visual Merchandising Managers nationally in developing strategies to deliver well-merchandised, visually-engaging stores that meet the needs of the business. The FVD reports to the Senior Director of Retail Experience/Marketing and closely partners with the Sr. Manager HQ Visual Merchandising, to develop the most compelling, innovative ways to bring the Brand to life in our stores.

What you'll do

  • Effectively leads and mentors the Field teams to execute seasonal visual merchandising needs.

  • Provides consistent training and development to the VMM team to develop talent and bench strength. Builds bench strength by identifying and developing internal and recruiting external talent.

  • Develops strategies to ensure seasonal product, window and in-store applications are executed seamlessly throughout the store fleet and identifies opportunity for localization opportunities.

  • Oversees the resolution of store specific merchandising challenges that require adaptations based on store size, type, and volume and inventory levels.

  • Liason with Store Design/Architecture team to review and determine the best market approach/floor plan for new stores and remodels.

  • Creates and delivers seasonal presentation workshops, meetings and conference calls with field visual team to support key initiatives and opportunities.

  • Conducts visual merchandising store visits with appropriate business partners to review reinforce compliance with visual merchandising standards and provide further development of teams.

  • Partners effectively with all business partners, including Merchants, Store Operations, Marketing and Creative, Inventory Planning and Human Resources, creating an internal network and significant work flow efficiencies.

Who you are

  • Ten years retail visual merchandising management (College degree preferred)

  • Able to lift at least 20 lbs.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive strong results.

  • Exceptional influencing/leadership and communication skills.

  • Reputation as a balanced leader, one who is open to input and embraces a growth mindset.

  • Able to train and develop teams in order to reach a high level of merchandising presentation skill.

  • Experienced in building and developing motivated, energetic teams.

  • Able to assess store business in order to prioritize workload, identify opportunities and grow business.
