About the role

In this role, you will be the primary HR support for all Janie and Jack District Managers and Regional Director across all Janie and Jack stores in the U.S. You will work closely with the field management team by providing direction and counsel on our field talent strategy, performance management and employee relations. You will support and drive a work environment that is fair, consistent and without bias.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with RD and DMs to build greater organizational capacity and maximize team effectiveness through informal consultation and team facilitation, as requested
  • Ensure effective implementation of performance management tools and processes
  • Provide partnership on performance action planning, corrective action and terminations
  • Drive and support our Field Leadership succession planning process
  • Work closely with TA team to identify, execute and evolve our field talent strategy
  • Support DMs in investigating all low and medium risk employee relations issues
  • Partner (as needed) with the Gap Inc. Employee Relations to provide DM’s decision support on high risk employee relations issues
  • Provide consultation on sensitive employee issues related to disability accommodations, FMLA/LOA, drug/alcohol policy violations, wage and hour compliance, loss prevention and other areas as needed
  • Identify and support employee relations related skill development for DMs and SMs
  • Support the management and sales associate focal review process
  • Guide, train and direct on the interpretation and execution of policies and processes to ensure compliance and positive employee experience

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years HR generalist experience required
  • Expertise in assessing organization development needs and implementing solutions
  • Skilled in conducting performance assessments and determining appropriate performance intervention
  • Outstanding problem solver, with ability to coach, influence and demonstrate flexibility
  • Extensive employee relations and performance management experience required
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to connect and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, both virtual and in-person
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills as well as organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel as required to support the needs of the business
