About the role

The Allocation Senior Planner drives the creation, management and execution of allocation strategies and inventory plans that support the financial goals and product strategies of the area of responsibility. May manage one or more Allocation Analysts.

What you'll do

  • Drive the size and packing process to improve the in-stock position and serves levels
  • Identify loss retail sales due to low service levels that are related to allocation, size, basics, pre-packs, etc.
  • Identity inventory opportunities for the quarter or season timeframe
  • Collaborate with the cross functional team to align on investment quantities and flow forecasts, communicate and quantify any risk associated with inventory buys and create solution options to help offset changes
  • Provide a perspective on future forecast and receipts and partner with cross functional team to align on investment quantities to support the forecast.
  • Develop plans and creative solutions that support the commercial plan that ensure inventory levels are adjusted prior to events, communicate to the cross functional team any risks for events
  • Lead the VMI/Basics product plans in line with style/class level allocation and financial forecasts, partner and negotiate with Inventory Management on future receipts
  • Improve forecast accuracy, track receipt projections, and in-season allocation strategies to maximize opportunities and mitigate risk
  • Participate and provide opportunities during the hindsight milestones and provide recommendations on opportunities (i.e., receipt timing)
  • Take on SME responsibilities, division responsibilities and/or additional global projects
  • Partner with Shared Services teams to troubleshoot allocation issues, drive for a solution and champion new best practices
  • Responsible for training and developing new hires
  • Support direct report's work prioritization, skills development and career development to ensure job satisfaction, retention and future talent development

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience, preferable in Inventory Management
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math
  • Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
  • Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action
  • Systems and Tools Acumen: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Developing Direct Reports & Motivating Others: Ability to hire, train, develop, and retain direct reports
  • Must have prior experience managing others
