About the role

Benefits Analyst II will have understanding of plan implementation and administration of 401(k) and Deferred Compensation Plans and lifestyle benefits (tuition reimbursement, commuter benefits, back up childcare and financial counseling) in a large matrix organization and forming of two organizations. This position is responsible for administration and communications of all retirement plans and lifestyle programs in the United States and Puerto Rico. Also, partnering with internal and external vendors to ensure the smooth administration of current plans achieve Gap Inc.’s desired business results within a Total Rewards framework.

What you'll do

  • Partner with Sr. Manager to benchmark/survey retirement plan design to maintain program competitiveness
  • Ensure compliance of 401(k) plans with all business and legal plan requirements, preparation and filing of legally required reports and documents such as SPD and 5500 filing. Responsible for quarterly SOX certification
  • Partner with Sr. Manager to implement program changes or introduction of new programs. Measure effectiveness of existing benefit programs to include 401(k) and deferred compensation plans and lifestyle benefits
  • Review participation and contribution limits for 401(k) plans, determine eligibility, confirm distributions and elected contributions to deferred compensation plan
  • Partner with internal audit business partners to review and deliver audit materials to ensure completion of annual financial statements for 401(k) plans
  • Partner closely with Shared Services, Brands and HR as well as other internal and external key stakeholders to manage the administration of the benefit programs
  • Work with internal and external business partners to prepare and process appropriate reports to effectively and efficiently complete projects. Ensure all processes are documented . (e.g. year-end processes, Proxy/Tally Sheet, monthly reconciliation)

Who you are

  • 3-5 years of experience within Benefits function
  • Knowledge in managing/delivering employee benefits programs (401(k) and deferred compensation plans)
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to simplify and clearly communication concepts in participant communications
  • Experience in large companies employing significant numbers of exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Experience working with external vendors who provide co-sourced or outsourced benefits administration services
  • Strong business acumen, particularly financial and analytical skills; solid understand of EXCEL and IT capabilities with HRMS desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects; manage multiple vendor relationships, interact effectively with all levels of management and to develop partnerships, both internal and external
