About the role

In this role you will take the lead during the monthly payables reporting and accounting processes to ensure activity and information is accurate, useful, actionable and accounted. You will be responsible for understanding upstream dataflows, how they impact our customers and concisely report out this information in a variety of ways; charts, presentations or PowerBi. You will need to collaborate, influence, and strategize with cross-functional partners to share key metrics and analytics, and become the subject matter expert on the PO end to end process. In this role you will help mentor a team by helping them become inspired by numbers and data mining and to provide solutions and out of the box thinking for our business partners and customers.

What you'll do

  • Take a lead role in the month end reporting process and the annual budget cycle – forecast, journal entries, reconciliation support, preparing historical analytics, reviewing current business trends, creating data models, final budget presentation to management and brand business partners

  • Provide first level review of work and support to the Staff Analyst – assist them in resolving issues and preparing analysis – prior to final review by the Senior Manager

  • Mentor team to help them develop their understanding of the end to end PO and Supply Chain process and systems

  • Provide accounting guidance and mentoring to team members and other business partners on complicated issues

  • Review payables reporting and develop meaningful and accurate analytics, ensure trends are idenitified and evaluate and resolve issues

  • Support business initiatives/strategies, projects, audit requests and systemic improvements

  • Focus on achieving team expectations and standards, holding yourself and team accountable

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required

  • 3+ years of accounting experience – month end/year end close reporting cycle

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Access (Create, run and maintain), Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, logic statements, macros), Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data and present the information to management

  • Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results

  • Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions and accuracy
