The Senior Manager - eCommerce, User Experience manages software development, implementation and support efforts across Gap Inc. technologies collection of eCommerce Platform. This collection of products forms a cohesive, scalable platform that is the basis for Gap Inc.'s success and future growth. As a member of this Product Engineering group, you possess deep technical knowledge, years of software development experience, proven leadership skills and ability to forge strong working relationships that cross organizational lines to aid us in our DevOps transition.

What you'll do

  • Work with business and IT leadership throughout the strategic planning process for eCommerce User Experience initiatives. Participate in the process to prioritize and scope future product capabilities.

  • Work with business and IT leadership to prioritize support and tactical issues to address immediate business needs while maintaining strategic direction.

  • Hire bright talents and plan resource needs and allocations.

  • Evaluate business needs, research and formulate application solutions, and make solution recommendations to Gap Technology (GapTech) leadership.

  • Ensure service levels are understood and met.

  • Proactively engage other leaders in cross-functional efforts. Openly share plans and strive to prevent surprises for other organizations.

Who you are

  • You have 8+ years of software development experience, with the last 3-5 years successfully managing and leading teams.
  • You possess commercial software engineering skills for application development on the UI, Cloud, Java/J2EE commerce platform.
  • Deftly interacts with business executives in business terms.
  • Skilled in effectively delegating workload and empowering your team.
  • Extensively experienced in a variety of SDLC methodologies (i.e. RUP, XP, Scrum, Lean, etc.) for large projects with distributed and scalable systems.
  • A champion of DevOps discipline, code quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience.
