About the role
Job Manage the design process from concept to production for all mens and boys accessory products for Old Navy, including shoes, bags, belts, socks, underwear and sleepwear. Thoroughly research the male gender fashion apparel and accessories market for inspiration and market opportunities; this includes domestic and international travel. Identify key trends in styling, fabric, color and trims. Partner with the product development team to source fabrics and trims to support key trends. Present to leadership all concept and sketch ideas relating to male accessories. Develop tech packs for product line: this includes sketching, creating Bills of Material and giving spec direction to the tech design team. Partner with the merchandising team to assort the line and cover all business needs. Work with merchants to gain a clear understanding of current sales and competitive marketplace. Manage the assistant designer of accessories. Conduct vendor meetings to negotiate cost of goods and ensure consistent aesthetic of the product line.
Who you are
Education: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Design or a related field and 3 years of related experience in job offered, fashion design, or a related field.
Experience and/or education must include:
1. Color and design theory;
2. Fabric knowledge;
3. Apparel and accessory construction expertise;
4. PLM experience;
5. Adobe Illustrator;
6. Photoshop; and
