Hey ladies — Do you know what is missing from your paycheck? Hate to break it to you, but it's at least 21% of the money that your male counterparts are earning. And if you are a non-white woman, you are missing even more.

It's infuriating and just plain unfair. That is why April 12 is recognized in the United States as Equal Pay Day, symbolizing how far into the next year U.S. women must work in order to earn what men received the year prior.

Do you know how much you are losing? Let's say the average loss for a U.S. woman during her career is about $431,000. That's one fat paycheck to be missing out on. Calculate here how much you will lose over a lifetime based on your current salary.

The issue of equal pay is nothing new. Our mothers and grandmothers felt the impact of this inequality, and without positive change, our daughters and granddaughters could still be fighting for equal pay in 2059.

So, let's roll up our sleeves and get to work for equal pay. Take action by posting a photo of your sleeve rolled up depicting the missing 21% along with the #closethepaygap hashtag on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. The best of the best will be featured on our site.
