SAN FRANCISCO – July 8, 2009 – Demonstrating a commitment to strengthening its international presence, Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) today announced an agreement with Armin Systems Limited to bring Gap stores to Thailand. Under the agreement with Armin, the first Gap stores in Thailand are expected to open in spring 2010, featuring clothing for adults, kids and babies.

Together with its franchise partners, Gap Inc. has opened 100 Gap and 34 Banana Republic franchise stores in 17 countries.

Gap franchise stores are open in Bahrain, Greece, Indonesia, Jordan, Korea, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia, Mexico, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Singapore, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Banana Republic franchise stores have opened in Bahrain, Indonesia, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, Gap Inc. has signed and announced agreements to open Gap and Banana Republic franchise stores in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Romania, Egypt and Israel.
